WE Are Rafikis
WE Are Rafikis is a fundraising initiative. For Kenyan artisans, women’s empowerment means taking charge of their future. Using traditional art forms, each piece is handcrafted by a mama in Kenya who is empowered through earning a fare wage for her work. Fundraising by selling handmade Rafiki Bracelets allows women to earn money to send their children to school. Through participating in WE Are Rafikis, you open the door to a world of possibilities for empowering female entrepreneurs and their families in WE Villages partner communities.
If you order with us, 50% of the proceeds will go to the Kenyan mamas, while the other 50% is going towards our fundraising goal. This year, we will be supporting the Education and Opportunity pillar of the WE Villages program. To learn more about where your money is going, visit www.we.org/en-CA/our-work/we-villages/.

WE Scare Hunger
When people have access to food and achieve food security, they can thrive and lead healthier lives. But what happens when parents cannot afford to feed their families? They are faced with making difficult choices, deciding between buying groceries or other necessities such as rent, and must rely on the support of food banks and other people. But together, we can change the narrative and empower people struggling with hunger with the resources to feed their families. Take part in WE Scare Hunger to raise awareness on the issue of food insecurity, collect food for local food banks and help create a world where no one goes hungry.
Every year, WE: Free the Children UofT collects canned goods for our local food banks. This year, we are donating all of our collected goods to the UTSU Food Bank which is a resource for UofT students in need.
